Week 16 wasn't an easy week. It encountered heavy rain and wind from Hurricane Irene when it touched basis on the east coast. The some of the stems on the tomato plants snapped or wilted over. People who grew corn, had corn stalks falling over. The plants did benefit from the rain because of the heat prior to the storm drying them out. Plus they were fed plant food earlier that week.

Meet Me In The Garden Pt. 16
This is going on week 16 already. Time is sure flying by fast. It's so cool how this garden has grown and provided us with great meals free at charge and much more healthier. This was such an amazing way to spend my summer and to track the progress is even more amazing.

5.9 Earthquake Hits Virginia, Rocks East Coast
Tuesday here in New Jersey seemed like a normal day until about 1:51 PM. I was at work sitting at my computer and I began to feel a slight sway. I thought maybe it was something I ate or that I was feeling dizzy. I was looking around and I didn't notice my co-worker or the customer react, so I thought it was me. I asked her did she feel the shake and she said she didn't. Then I looked over and saw my keychains on my magnet strip shaking. So I knew it was something other than me feeling weird. Then it was reported on the radio that there was a 5.9 earthquake in Mineral, Virginia near Washington, D.C. We felt the tremor from that. I knew I felt something and that I wasn't losing my mind. My mom and my friend, Moses, even called to check on me. It was felt as far as North Carolina and as far up north as Massachusetts. It was definitely a scary feeling. I can imagine how they felt where it actually occurred. Thank goodness there has been no reported injuries or major damages.

Meet Me In The Garden Pt. 14 and 15
Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted and I've been busy. Plus we have been receiving so much rain preventing me from taking photos of the garden. Since the last time we met, my mom has picked two cabbages and used it in a meal with rice and baked chicken. Delicious! Then we picked more collards, tomatoes and my first eggplant. We fed the plants plant food last week as well. We believe we have squash growing in plot 3 and another eggplant is growing in plot 2. But for the most part the garden is looking more radiant than ever.
Here's some photos:
