Response I love this article. It just makes me feel cooler thinking about how cool you'll be in the kitchen, literally. After work days during the summer I do not want to be slaving over a hot oven or stove all the time. I also don't have a large appetite to really cook much either. I love fruits and veggies so why not chill out to a nice healthy cool salad. My mom always make the most creative salads in the summertime. This past week she made crab meat salad. Yum! Plus being that I'm growing vegetables in my community garden plots, maybe they can come to some use as well. I definitely would love to try some of these recepies soon and when I do I will post my reviews.

Article Response: Iran's largest lake turning to salt
Article Link Iran's largest lake turning to salt

Image: Associated Press
Response Many of these types of salt lakes are common in the middle east. The Oroumieh Lake is a part of Lake Urmia in Iran. It is so crazy how a lake can disappear and turn into salt. I feel this is all due to global warming. Global temperatures are rising and causing the waters to boil and evaporate. Things like this make me know for sure that global warming is real. It is amazing how it happening causing boats to get stuck and having risks of salt tsunamis which can be very dangerous. Yet they say in the article that consumption is the cause for the issue as well. I can see that being an issue because water is still a precious resource no matter how much you may see around you. Especially if the area is prone to droughts due to extreme heat with lack of rain. Just to know that a large lake can become nothing but salt in the near future is very devastating and it lets us know it can happen anywhere.

Response Life on planet Gliese 581d? Could it be possible that human beings can sustain life on any other planet? According to this article, planet Gliese 581d can sustain life. As long as a planet has a stable climate, a water source and oxygen human life can survive. I do believe Earth is not the only planet that can maintain life. It wouldn't be such a bad idea if the planet was closer to Earth. Can you imagine traveling from planet to planet? Imagine if it took you 300,000 years. That's just ridiculous. I can barely ride in a car for an hour without getting aggravated. If it was closer, I feel if the climate on planet is stable I would love to see how much further we can go. My main concern is how bad of a shape this planet is, I hope that if we did find another one that people won't destroy it.

Article Response: 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' reduces and reuses on set
Article Link 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' reduces and reuses on set | MNN - Mother Nature Network
Response I love the fact that people are trying to make life more eco-friendly. People are using less energy and resources to be safer on the environment. People are building "green" buildings and environmentally safe surroundings. I love the fact that people are becoming more aware of how we need to protect the environment to maintain a bright future.

Captain Jack Sparrow portrayed by Johnny Depp
After reading this article, I was so glad to see how even the movie industry are valuing the environment while creating movies. The fact that they were reusing some of the sets from the previous films was awesome. The last film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' was released in 2007 and for them to maintain sets from four years ago is genius. There was also plenty of outdoor shots in the film, shot in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and London, to show a more natural environment. It was beautiful to look at as well. Well don't want to say too many details, because the movie is released tomorrow and I saw an advanced screening yesterday. Hope you all try to see all the beauty as well as the adventure within it and I don't mean just stare at Mr. Johnny Depp the whole time. :-)

Article Response: Michael Jackson photos could help fund energy breakthrough
Article Link Michael Jackson photos could help fund energy breakthrough | MNN - Mother Nature Network
Response This is my responce to the link above. Two things that I love are Michael Jackson and the environment. Michael Jackson was an advocate for the environment and nature. He makes many references to it in his music and interviews. I believe if this man is going to sell photos he has taken of the late King of Pop to fund an invention to clean up greenhouse gases and help the earth, Michael would be honored that his photos will serve that purpose. It will be a way he can help improve earth posthumously.

I do believe people will buy the photos as a momento of the late pop star and keep it for generations to share. I'm not sure about how much the photos will make but I know it will be quite a bit. Even though the photos are of his younger years, that is a side of Michael Jackson people want to see more of and get to know. Especially young and post surgeries.

This invention should really help reduce and possibly eliminate greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and others natural earth gases that in a large dose mixed with other chemicals like burning coal, the use of fuel and gasoline can be quite dangerous. They can lead to global warming caused by the greenhouse effect. This is a serious issue that causes a series of issues, for example melting polar ice caps resulting in rising sea levels.
Hopefully this plan is for the right reasons. If so, I hope it works out and Reginald Garcia gets his invention created. I feel Michael Jackson would be honored to be a part of making the world a better place. What are your views?
